【pharmacological action】

Tetracycline antibiotics. Doxycycline can reversibly bind to the receptor on the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosome, interfere with the formation of ribosomal complex between tRNA and mRNA, prevent peptide chain extension and inhibit protein synthesis, so that the growth and reproduction of bacteria are rapidly inhibited. Doxycycline can inhibit both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Bacteria have cross resistance to doxycycline and oxytetracycline. Oral absorption is rapid, less affected by food, high bioavailability, strong tissue permeability, wide distribution, and long maintenance time of effective blood drug concentration.
